Kidlandia Review and $50 Giveaway

Now a days it is hard to find something for your kids that is not the same as all of their friends. I was delighted when I was offered a chance to try out the personalized experience at Kidlandia.com. There are many different items to choose from that you can customize. Choose from Disney Princess, Spongebob, Cars, and even their own magical creatures.

The fist item I made was a family map. I imputed all of the names of our family and their site created a custom treasure map with places and kreatures (that is how they spell it) named after us.

I love it! I am going to have it framed so I can hang it with our family photos.

I chose 3 custom placemats also. 1 for a gift for a friend's son and 2 for my girls. You can put as many names as you would like in to have them show up in the design.

Piper's is Disney Princess and it is titled the Ocean of Princess Piper and her birthday is the national Holiday.

Paige is more a a Spongebob Squarepants type a girl. They are laminated and very sturdy.

How cool is this Pixar Cars placemat from my friend's son? I added in his mom, dad, and sister. He absolutely loves it!

Zhu-Zhu Pets Babies Review and Giveaway

My girls LOVE Zhu-Zhu pets! They love the pets and how they interact with the house and the different sounds they make. I was sent a new selection of them to test out.

Have you seen the Zhu-Zhu babies yet? They are the cutest little things! They come with accessories and a blanket to snuggle them up with.

They work with the Patty Cake Preschool. It can be used alone or connected to the main house pieces. This is what we did.

"Watch in amazement as the mommy hamsters, energize the set, causing the baby hamsters to scoot around on the floor while the airplane spins and the TV set plays a silly movie! "

They were a welcome addition to our collection which is ever growing. They have a flocked fur that makes them nice and soft. I am going to get the other 2 for the girls so they will have the whole set!

New England Coffee Review

Like I have said before I live on coffee. The amount of coffee drank in my house has now doubled now due to my mother in law moving in. Before that I was the only one and it didn't really matter what type I made because I had no one to share it with. It is nice to have someone else to drink it with. We love buying flavored creamers and testing them all out. I hadn't really given much thought to maybe using flavored coffee instead.

I was introduced to New England Coffee and now I am hooked. You have no idea how excited I was to open the box and find pumpkin spice coffee, I love anything and everything pumpkin spice flavor! My mother in law and I were very quick to brew our first pot. The aroma that filled my house was heavenly. We added only a touch of milk and sugar and the taste was wonderful. The whole pot was gone in a matter of an hour!

Now the second flavor we were sent was Eggnog. To be fair I do not like the taste of the real stuff so I was skeptical that I would like the coffee any different, but in the spirit of true product testing...I brewed some. Let me just say that neither of us will be putting this on our try again list. This is not to say that someone who likes the taste of said nog wouldn't like it.

All in all I would give New England Coffee a thumbs up and they have a quite a few flavors that I am interested in trying!

Slanket Review

We love to cuddle up in the living room and have movie night once or twice a week and there is always a fight over who gets which blanket between my girls.

I was very happy when I was sent a Slanket for kids for Paige to test out. She loves peace signs so it was easy picking the right one for her. She loves it!

They have a large selections of designs for everyone adults and kids! I saw one that would be perfect for my niece because she loves dinosaurs. It's called the Slankesaurus.

I have tried the "other" blanket with sleeves and I will say there is a big difference in the quality. The "other" one is kind of rough, short, and the sleeves are tight. Paige loves that she can eat popcorn or read a book while wearing her Slanket because the sleeves are roomy and it covers her whole body and keeps her snug as a bug in a rug (as she says) haha.

Cool Gear Review

In my house we go through a lot of different cups and water bottles and especially travel mugs. I am guilty of being in the store and saying "oh that's cute" or "that will work perfect" then after a week or so they are on a shelf or in the trash. I was pleasantly surprised when we tested out items from Cool Gear inc. and saw there was a big difference. We were sent 3 items. The product that has really been put to the test is the Orange Eco 2 Go chiller that I gave to my husband.

He has to take a drink with him EVERYWHERE he goes. We jokingly call it his "Buppy" I will say that we have had this for a couple months and he has really loved it. It keeps drinks ice cold. It has been washed I want to say at least 100 times and still is holding strong with no leaks or cracks.

My girls take snacks with us in the car and it is nice to have a nice cold drink to give them on the go. We were sent an EZ Freeze snack container.

The top portion is placed in the freezer until you are ready to fill it with juice, water, or milk. It is then placed on top of the screw on snack container. It is perfect for Teddy Grahams or goldfish (my girls' favorites).

I have filled this and thrown it in my purse and thankfully it has not leaked!

I am guilty of being one of the millions of moms out there who lives my life fueled by coffee. I drink probably 2 pots total daily. When I know we are going to out of the house an hour or more I like to take a cup with me.

I am so picky when it come to travel mugs it is not even funny. I was skeptical when I was sent the Eco 2 go mug because I figured all travel mugs are the same. I like that my coffee stays hot for a while so I can take my time drinking it and not have to worry about it getting yucky and cold.

This is my new favorite mug and I have actually gotten rid of the others in my cabinet!

I Love to cook! I know a lot of moms say that but I do truly mean it. I guess for me it is about providing for my family and that food makes people happy :) Most of our get togethers and parties revolve around what we will be eating. My girls were ready and willing to help me make them as long as they were employed as official testers. The preparation is basically the same except you only fill each liner partially for the first step.

Halloween is one of our favorite holidays because the girls love getting all dressed up and showing off their costumes. This year is no exception. Paige wanted to be a gothic ballerina and they had exactly that at CostumeDiscounters.com! They have a big selection of girls costumes to choose from.

Here she is before her school Halloween Party. I told her she looked adorable and she got all mad. Her dad told her she looked scary awesome and she accepted that ha ha.

J&O Fabric Store Review & throw pillow sewing tutorial

I am far from a sewing expert but I can make quite a bit of stuff. I wanted a change in my living room. The best and cheapest option for me was to make new covers for my throw pillows.I was sent this adorable fabric by J&O Fabric Store.

My opinion of the fabrics: Very nice in appearance, no flaws or snags. Fabric came to me cut evenly so I lost no yardage trying to trim it straight. Nice and thick, not see through. I like that they have hard to find fabrics as well as the basics so you can get everything from 1 place! I am already planning a Christmas project :)

Tutorial

You want to start by measuring the existing pillow you have (or have measurements for 1 that you want to make from scratch). The standard is 16"-18" cubed.

Add 2" to your height and width before cutting to allow for seams

Cutting both pieces (back and front) of the pillow at the same time makes it easier to line them up.

Once cut place them with the nice sides together and pin into place all the way around.

Stitch 3 sides only, leaving one whole side open.

I like to cut the corner pieces off to make a cleaner corner but you can skip this step if you would like.

Turn the cover right side out and stuff with pillow filling or a pillow. Fold the open edges in and stitch shut.

You now have a completed pillow/pillow cover!

I have a large couch so I made 5 pillow covers and incorporated an old pillow I had laying around!

Kinderville Review

I love packing snacks for my girls for lunch in little containers. The major problem is finding containers that do not spill or pop open that they can actually open themselves. Kinderville has come to my rescue! I would not have thought of silicone jars.

These are the Little Bites Storage Jars and I love them! The lids pop in and out easily and stay in by suction. Piper takes a snack everyday for kindergarten and these work great for her little goldfish. Packing them in a baggie often leads to crushed fishies :( Paige packs her own lunch normally and I spied her using these for her ranch dressing to dip her broccoli in. They are the perfect size for lunch boxes!

Another great item they sent me were the Little Bites Ice Pop Molds. They keep their hands clean and they just squeeze the bottom and it pushes the ice pop right to the top! Most of the melted pop goes right back down into the mold while they eat! Definitely a Popsicle WIN!

Last but not least the kids' favorite item that was sent to us by Kinderville was the EasySqueezy lotion applicator. Now I know a lot of you are thinking...why would you need an applicator for lotion? Well the answer is simple. Have you ever let your child put lotion on themselves? Mine do it and end up with a thick white layer on them because with kids more is more right?

You fill the bottle with your favorite lotion. There is a twist cap that you open that slowly dispenses lotion onto the soft foam pad. Then you rub it onto your skin and ta-da no more coated children! I have used it also because I like that my hands don't get greasy from applying lotion! The girls and I love it! I have been carrying it in my purse.

The basket arrived and I was very impressed by it's appearance, nothing out of place and very visually appealing. Infiniti Pro Spin Air brush by Conair Review and Giveaway!

I am a typical mom, meaning that normally I throw on whatever I have clean, brush my hair into a ponytail and head out to the bus stop or cheer practice. Sometimes I want to pretty myself up a bit (when I have time). I was offered a chance to try the new Infiniti Spin Air brush by Conair and I LOVE IT! At first I thought that it would be a pain to use but really it was super simple. I never blow dry my hair because it is super thick and frizzy. Check out how this brush/dryer works...

I love that it does the brushing for you while it drys your hair. I tried it out on my friend who has short, thin, flat hair.

Heelys for big kids

Did you know that Heelys are for adults too? Yeah I never really thought about it. I was offered the chance to try out a pair and see what I thought. I looked around on their website and finally picked a pair that I could wear with pretty much anything. I love skater style shoes so their designs are right up my alley. Here are the ones I picked:

They have a lot of cool styles I liked but I wanted something I can wear a lot. What is great is the wheels come out so you can wear them as regular sneakers too!

My thoughts on them as regular shoes:

Well made, no loose seams or defects in the details
Very comfortable with a lot of cushioning to walk (unlike most skater shoes)
Very nice appearance

I got brave and popped the wheels in...Not the best experience for me. This was not due to the Heelys themselves but strictly because I have knee problems and I was slipping and sliding all over the place. Another thing that hindered me is that I never learned how to skate at all (I know shock and awwww) I guess watching the how to skate video would have been helpful at the time also. My neighbor gladly threw them on and gave it a shot! She is a big kid herself so she couldn't wait!

She said "Woo Hoo look at me!" ha ha it was hilarious!

I know I will be giving it a try again but I will tell you that she was "Heeling" for about an hour having a blast. She said after she was done she could feel the burn in her calves and thighs so they are a great form of exercise for us "old people" so yes I think they are not just for kids anymore...

Not enough hours in the day...

Well life is starting to settle down some here...not.

Piper started Kindergarten last week, she is getting so big on me :( You would think I would have more time now but I just find more stuff that needs done. Here is my DIVA on her first day...

Paige wanted to walk her to the bus stop the first day so I stayed a lil bit behind them.

Soon as the girls get in the door today they have to change and we are off again to cheer practice. Their bus comes at 3:45 and practice is at 5. We will get home around 7:20 then homework, baths, and bed to do it all over again tomorrow. They will be missing practice tomorrow because they took a majorette clinic for the High school and will be going on the field with some other girls and doing a routine in front of like 500 people for band night. All of the bands from the surrounding cities will be there performing. I did not realize that it runs until 11pm so we may be cutting out of there early!

I am working on planning the bake sale for cheer leading, re-altering a bunch of uniforms because girls are growing and shrinking ha ha, and every week I paint the signs that the football players run through. I painted all of the yard signs (below) and as a squad mom we make treat bags for the visiting team so I have to get to that this week.

The girls are in school so I am heading out the door to get some groceries because I have one of the pickiest children known to man and have to pack her lunch everyday (Piper) and if I feed my family Hot Dogs again they may actually shoot me!

Bad Idea T-shirts Review

To me there is nothing better than throwing on a comfy T-shirt and my favorite pair of jeans. Don't get me wrong I dress up once in a while but that is for events for the kids and such. For the girls' cheer practice I wear T's because I never know what I will be doing, fitting and altering uniforms, painting signs, or ducking fly baseballs from the field across the street (happened to me last week haha). If you have not heard of them, they are adorable little plush animals with an icing and sprinkle "hat". They sit into a cupcake wrapper and look like little cupcakes. Very cuts and lovable! Just when we thought they couldn't get any better, the 2nd series showed up at our door!

Paige loves to sit in my backyard and watch the squirrels run through the trees, and she thinks raccoons are the cutest things ever. When the 2nd series showed up we were pleasantly surprised to find a raccoon (Roco Coco) and a squirrel (Nutty Nicky) just for her! They are now in her bed with her first 2 PetCake friends.

As I have said before Piper is a panda-holic, anything and everything with a panda on it has to be hers! She screeched with excitement when she met Bamboo Berry the Panda. Honey Cakes is the adorable little bear that she says protects the rest of the bunch.

I can't wait for more to come out! Now I see that they have minis! Definitely have to put those on my Christmas list.

Like I have said before, I am a tshirt and jeans girl. I love wearing funny tees. I have to be careful about what is printed on them because Paige can read and Piper is getting there! Littlest Pet Shop Playset Review and Giveaway

My girls love Littlest Pet Shop toys. They were super excited when we were sent the new Hamster Playground play set. There is a little wheel for the hamster to "run" in and a detachable ball for them to roll around in. It is very cute and they had a blast playing with it.

Play-doh Set Review

I was sent 2 fun sets for the girls to try out by Play-doh. The first one is the Cookie Monster's Letter Lunch Set. They love that you feed cookie monster the letters and vegetables.

You mold many different vegetables and the whole alphabet and toss it into the included bowl. There is a press that you create noodles with and it all fits neatly back into the box!

The second set was great because they were able to act out a story that everyone knows. The Story of Little Red Riding Hood set came with the story, a playmat and the bed is actually a mold to make the grandma and wolf characters.I think the little woodsman is adorable!

I love Play-doh because the kids can play quietly for hours!

Build a Sign Review

Last year I was a football and cheer mom since Paige played football for the local boy's team and Piper was a Jr Cheerleader. Here is a flashback...

Shainsware recycled cuff bracelet review

I was sent 2 starter kits of the Shainsware recycled cuff bracelets from The Ultimate Green Store. The girls were super excited to design their own bracelets. They came with 100 different elements (letters and icons). They are essentially buttons that pop through the holes and stay put. Paige went for the basics and put her complete name. Piper's says Piper Rocks! hahaha

Paige has switched hers up a couple times and she thinks it is so fun. I like that they are very soft and flexible and made out of 100% recycled materials. I cut theirs down for their tiny wrists so they would not have it rolled twice around. I would definitely recommend these if you have a child who is constantly looking to be different or to express their selves!

Crocodile Hop Review and Giveaway

My kids love games but sometimes it is hard to find something that both of the enjoy. We were sent Crocodile Hop by Learning Resources to try out.

The girls love the bright colors and fun play mat. I like that there are many different ways to play, color recognition, shapes,and numbers!

My house is small and as with many apartments having the kids "hop" on the mat would be problematic so we took it outside!

They thought that the 2 inflatable dice were fun and they liked that it was a lot like hopscotch. They had fun rolling and taking turns hopping from logs to stones and sometimes having to share a spot and not fall over. There are adorable printed animal place markers that are included but we used a variation that did not require them due to wind. I really liked this for them, come winter they can play it in the basement.

Like I have said before, when it comes to local football and cheerleading we are there! We were sent some tattoos withe the girls' team colors and monogram for all of the cheerleaders and fans to wear to games. They came out very nice and did not rub off easily like many do, when she wanted it off I used a little rubbing alcohol and a cotton ball and it was easy as pie! Wholesale Halloween Costumes Review

Something I hate is when every kid in the class/neighborhood has the same costume as one of my kids. It makes it feel less special for them. I always look around for something new. Unfortunately we live in Ohio and you never know what the weather will be from 1 day to the next. Healing

I am healing from surgery. I had an scope, DNC, ablation and a tubal done on Thursday. I had no idea how much pain I would be in. My incisions are killing me. I have been told that by friends that I should not be hurting this much but the doctor told me that I would be down for 4-5 days. The pain meds are helping but I am trying not to take them too much because they knock me out. Hubby is doing a great job taking care of me, the kids, and the house. My girls are very understanding and are trying to be low maintenance and behave for Daddy. The last few days I have rotated between the couch, front porch, and the computer (when I can tolerate sitting up). I can't wait to start feeling better. This is my "pity me" post and I will get off the computer now :)

We live in a townhouse apartment so when my kids get something to play with outside it is understood that they share it. They were the talk of the neighborhood a couple weeks ago when I pulled out the 52" GBOP (Great big outdoor playball) from Hearthsong. There was a long line of kids just waiting to check it out.

The only con I found with the ball is that you have to fill each individual cell by itself. We were using an electric pump (for bikes etc) and it took forever to fill up. (next time I will use an airbed pump, I have heard it works better) Once it was done we were on a roll (ha ha ha). Everyone got a turn in it and they all loved it! Unfortunately I do not have a shed or garage so it had to be partially deflated after the weekend to make it down the basement stairs. Check out these kids having fun!

I was asked to take a look around Ebeanstalk.com and share my opinion of the site with my readers.
At first glance it looks to be a great site with easy to navigate categories. I love the bright colors and that they have the toys grouped by age groups like Toys for 4 year olds for example. They carry great toys for learning, and wooden toys.
After selecting an age group you can further narrow your results and pick a gender. I sorted by Toys for 5 year olds > Girls and found some wonderful things that my girls would love! Some of my favorites are :

A good friend of mine approached me about reviewing some products from Avon. Now everyone has heard of Avon and at first I was wondering what to review. I decided to let HER pick what I reviewed. I am very satisfied with the things I got to try!

Nailwear Pro nail enamel in Vintage Blue (same bottle different color) Loved the color and lasted almost 2 weeks!

Haiku Sunset perfume spray. I am in love with this scent, I have been putting it on even to go outside and watch the kids play. It reminds me of summer, not the sweat and chlorine, but the fun and sunshine!

Lavender Foot Works soak and mask. I soaked my feet for about half an hour in the soak after using the mask and they felt so soft! Now I have always used epsom salts to soften my feet but after a day or so they are back to rough and dry. The soak and and mask made them feel and look softer for a week! The smell is great but not perfumy and strong.

Musk Marine cologne spray and roll-on anti-perspirant- Hubby is normally left out of the loop when it comes to products that come in to be reviewed so she included some men's products for him. We both loved the scent of the cologne. It has a comforting..cuddle your man scent :) It is not too strong, and lasts a long time. It reminded me of a couple of the Axe scents (which is what he normally uses). He was a good sport and used the roll-on for 3 days in a row for me. He is a solid kind of guy, he doesn't like anything wet going on his arm pits. He said beside that the product worked well, he smelled great all day long!

Adults only! Getting personal with EdenFantasys

I am having trouble lately switching from Mommy mode to wife mode. I know it happens to a lot of moms but I swore that I would not let it happen to me. For years I have gone through phases where I will want it everyday for weeks and we will have a very healthy sex life then all of a sudden it goes to nothing. Hubby gets mixed signals because he didn't get the memo and attempts to set the mood and I snap at him.

My excuse is normally that I am having female issues (which I currently am, I just went in for a biopsy to rule some things out). I have PCOS, Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome that messes with my hormones big time! If that is not the reason then I am just too tired. But I have noticed that if we start, even if I am not in the mood, that I eventually warm up to it and all is well. The issue is battling myself.

Smelly Washer Cleaner is a great tool in my laundry arsenal. I reviewed Smelly Towel by the same brand last year, you can read it HERE. In February of this year I bought my first set of front loaders and I absolutely love them!

Please don't mind my basement wall, we live in a rental.

I didn't realize that front load washers could get so stinky so fast. I was sent a bottle of the original Smelly Washer to test out. Now I run a cycle of Smelly Washer in it once a month. It takes that mildewy smell right out. I am still horrible about forgetting loads in the washer so it is there for me in a pinch too! Just add a cap full to your load and wash on hot and the smell is gone!

I am always looking for ways to keep the girls' hair out of their face. Once they start playing it goes everywhere! I was pleasantly surprised when I was sent 2 packs of the new hair clips from Scunci called "Bendini clips".

They work on both Paige (thick hair) and Piper (thin hair). I played with Piper's hair a little bit on a lazy afternoon while Paige was at school. What do you think?

They are super easy to put in. You just slide the comb into their hair and then flip the clip over top of the comb.

They hold really well.

Scentsy Review

Have you ever walked into someone's house and smelled something foul that they were oblivious to? Kitchen odors, cigarette smoke, or animal odors? When you are in your own home you rarely smell these odors because you are continuously in them. This is the case for me with air fresheners too. We will buy a plug in or automatic spray and after about 4 days we don't even notice it. I knew I needed something new.

A good friend of mine is an independent Scentsy consultant. Her name is Michelle Benders and you can check out her page HERE. She told me about Scentsy and offered to give me a warmer and some scent bars to try out. I love candles but when it comes to small children I get worried. They sit and collect dust so this was a nice alternative. I picked this beautiful Red plug in warmer that I could plug into the outlet in my kitchen above my counter safe from little fingers. The best part is that I don't have to mess with it very much, I can set it up and leave it and the scent lasts for days!

Along with the warmer she generously added 4 different scents! They were: Blueberry Cheesecake, Cranberry Spice, Hazelnut Latte , and Mochadoodle. They all smell awesome! I wanted to eat the mochadoodle and blueberry cheesecake! I couldn't wait to try them out! There is no water or tea lights needed (in contrast to an oil burner). What's great is the bars of wax last a long time, you break one of the pre-formed cubes off and place it in the top of the warmer and plug it in. Within 5 minutes my whole 1st floor smelled heavenly!
We were like little kids and changed it every couple hours the first day, just so we could try all of the scents. Everyone noticed a difference when they came in my house. I got "what are you baking", "wow what smells so good?", and "Oh my God! I want one" from friends and neighbors. My house is high traffic, friends coming by, family, and I have at least 1 or 2 neighbors and their kids here daily.

I definitely recommend getting one of these! Right now they have some wonderful scents for spring and summer HERE I have my eye on cherry limeade! Help I am addicted!

Do you're kids have night time fears? I know both of mine are normally up and down at least 3 times. Sometimes the smallest thing can send them running into my room. Snazzy Lites Review and Giveaway

I used to color my hair black and bleach out blond streaks. The point of this was to be able to add color to the blond strands. The whole process is a big messy pain and rarely lasts more than 2 weeks. I eventually gave up and stuck to my basic black hair. Every now and then I still want a little pop. I was pretty excited when I came across Snazzy Lites. They are the first realistic looking clip in hair extensions with color that I have found. Most of the time you will see color strands in the store but they look like Barbie doll hair.

I decided to try these out in Piper's hair since she was all for me playing with her hair and I had not straightened mine. (Irish+German= Thick frizzy hair) She was so excited to try them out.

I started with the basic clip in, with a small amount of hair overlaying it to conceal the clip.

Whirl-A-Style review

Piper loves having her hair put up. She is always asking for a bun or "Tinkerbelle hair" as she calls it. I came across a product that promises to create an easy fast bun. This product is called a Whirl-A-Style.

"Ballroom dancers, ballerinas, tango dancers, cheerleaders, baton twirlers.... Put your hair through the slit, grab your hair, roll it, and snap the Whirl-a-Styler closed pulling your hair around to cover the device and you are set to go. You can jump, twirl, roll on the ground and your hair will be perfect. Imagine being able to do all this without needing hairpins!"

I gave it my best shot. She wiggles a lot and her hair is thin but i think it works pretty well.

I could have used hair spray for the fly aways but this was just a test. It seems like it would be tough for someone with short or layered hair to use but maybe they could use one of the smaller ones they offer. I have hopes of using this a lot once cheerleading starts back up in July so I can keep her hair up while she is at practice. She loved her "Tinkerbelle hair" and I think this is a pretty great hair product!

*new update* I called the store on the other side of town and the MGR said I can do as many transactions as I want and that if I call ahead she will make sure she gets enough in stock. Now if I could only get my hands on the schick hydro and clean and clear coupons... GRRRR all of the clipping services are out.

***Update*** My phone rang at 8am this morning, it was the head manager of the store. She wanted to talk to me about my complaint that I sent at 2am. She asked me about the Cottonelle deal, she says that she tried the deal and NO RR printed. I asked if there was a reason it worked for everyone else but their store. She told me that "If a lot of people were doing it and it was not an advertised sale then corp may have put a stop to it" well that just sucks but moving on... I explained how I was treated like I was a second class person because I walked up to the register #1 with coupons and #2 because the whole time the mgr was talking to me she was staring at my chest piece tattoo and not my face. She apologized and offered to give me the rainchecks. She is giving me the raincheck for 4 bodywash BOGO so 8 bottles, 1 Noxema razor raincheck, 1 Fusion pro glide razor raincheck, and the box of Tampax Pearl that was on sale that I am getting for 2.00 after coupons. I did not expect any contact from Walgreens so at least I am getting some kind of resolution. I am going to call THAT manager back here in a minute to verify the deals for tomorrow that I found before I even waste my time. From now on I will be her best buddy lol. I will call HER before I go in to use coupons and make sure that it is when she is on shift. I have decided that they are going to get sick of me at that store.

I am so angry right now I am to the point of tears. I went to Walgreens to take advantage of some of the great deals that everyone has been posting about since we are a family on an extremely small budget. I saw a chance to stock up on deodorant, body wash, toilet paper, and razors. I sat and spent over an hour and a half planning out my transactions and printing the coupons, newspaper coupons were sent to me in the mail by my sister and even another blogger. I had everything organized and set up for a speedy checkout as to not hold up the cashier. I wasted my time.

First of all the Right Guard body wash, Noxema razors, and Scotch tape that I went for were sold out. When I asked if they were able to do a rain check on any of them I got a quick "NO" accompanied by a snide look from the cashier. So I get to the register with 4 packs of toilet paper, 8 deodorants, the Gilette Razor (last one in the store), a box of Tampax, and 6 bottles of nail polish that I found cheap. I explain to her that I have 4 transactions (because of the deodorant). She looks at me like I just handed her a note that said I was robbing the store. She said "you can't do that, 1 transaction per customer" I said that I have made multiple purchases there before and she huffed a disgusted sigh and called the manager over. They whispered back and forth a minute and the manager repeated to me what the cashier had said. Both of them looking me up and down like I was a common criminal. Immediately I noticed the manager staring at my tattoos and I instantly knew what she thought of me. It was bad enough that we were followed throughout the whole store like we were shoplifters, even when my friend went to a different isle to shop we had 2 associates following. From that point on they refused to let me do anything. My friends said she would make a transaction for me so I could at least get a few things. The manager immediately said that she would have to include my items in her transaction. I was paying cash she was paying credit, she was not buying anything on sale so why couldn't SHE do 2 transactions?

The cashier tells me that I can only buy 1 pack of toilet paper in my transaction because it is unfair to other customers. The sale is buy 2 and get $3 RR, buy 3 and get $4 RR so how can she try to limit me to 1? At this point I knew how this was going to go. They would not let me use the .50 off Cottonelle Manufacturer coupon because she had already scanned the WALGREENS 1.00 off instant value coupon she had at the register. (you are allowed to use both) They would not allow me the Right Guard either because the sale was already BOGO free. (the coupon and the sale equal 2 free). At that point I was angry but kept my cool. I asked that they cancel it all out and give me back my coupons and they were not happy. The manager said yeah sure and quickly slid them back to me almost hitting me in the hand that was resting on the counter. Pretty much the equivalent of throwing them at me. I left everything took my daughter and was out of there. I am sending this posting to Walgreens corporate office and hopefully get some response back. Please comment and let me know your thoughts!

We were sent a T shirt from TshirtPrinting.net. It has a super cute monkey logo printed on it and Hubby loves it. He was wearing it as a pajama shirt because he said it was "just that comfortable" until Paige stole it from him. Now it is her pajama/nightgown shirt.

The seams are soft and the monkey is well printed. This shirt has been washed about 8 times now and still looks new! I am looking into ordering shirts from them this season with Paige's number on them for games :)

Everybody does it but not many talk about it. You know what I am talking about...SEX. It is one of those taboo topics that even a lot of women are afraid to talk to their friends about. I have been married 10 years this December and I will tell you that it took me a long time to get comfortable enough with the subject to be able to open up to my husband and my close friends. I will say that once I was able to talk to friends about it, I learned a lot about sex that I didn't know and felt like I wasn't alone in a lot of my likes and dislikes. I like to look around the website for EdenFantasys to see what kind of new fun I can find for Hubby and I. Sometimes something as simple as a candle can add that special mood to your evening. Married life can be hectic and sex gets put on the back burner a lot of the time, maybe you should check them out and surprise the man in your life. Renaissance Costume Review

I was sent one of the beautiful Renaissance Maiden Costumes from Wholesale Costume Club to wear for Piper's 5th birthday party. The theme was princesses and pirates and this was the closest to the theme that I could do. It is so hard to find plus sized costumes that are well made and I hate that I can never find a good selection so I was very pleased with this company.

It is beautifully made and has stretch to it so I was able to move around comfortably. They have a great selection of renaissance costumes to choose from you should definately check them out!

Birthday wrap up

The girls had their surgery at the end of March and spent 3 long weeks stuck in the house. Paige went back to school on day 10 but was not allowed to run, jump, or dance around for another 10 days.

I am backlogged! I am so far behind on posting I am going to do a marathon blog session today!

Hey at least I can admit my faults...I get distracted easily and I procrastinate but that is what gives me my charm <3

Piper's 5th birthday party (beginning of March) was wonderful and she had so much fun! She had a lot of friends come out to eat and bowl it was chaos squared but well worth it!

We served hot dogs, subs, pasta salad, and chips and it was almost completely gone by the end of the party!

All of the kids loved the treat bags stuffed with fun items provided by Century Novelty and Peaceable Kingdom. Everyone went home happy!

She had a custom Pirates and Princesses cake from Walmart and it tasted great too :)

She went nuts when she opened her PillowPets backpack and slippers. The backpack goes everywhere with her now and the slippers are always on her feet!

We bowled for a few hours even after the guests all left. Everyone got a kick out of her in the party dress from Pink Princess with bowling shoes! (doesn't she look like a precious moments girl?)

My girls love to grow things. They have that look of wonder and amazement in their eyes when they see the progress that their plants are making. I was very excited to give them Nyokki from ecoMom. Once we started it, it did not take long for the little hairs to pop up and my girls got so excited. This adorable little chick received many compliments sitting in my kitchen. (until there was an unfortunate incident that resembles Humpty Dumpty) I plan on ordering them a new one to replace theirs and probably the Frog one too :)

I thought my kids didn't want to listen to me but it turns out... (long post)

     We took the girls in to the ENT (ear nose throat doctor) today for their pre-op visit. There surgery is in 10 days and now I am getting nervous. I know it is a routine surgery but I am still worried. The girls had strep again 2 weeks ago and ear infections a week ago. Because of the 2 occurances of strep in February and the massive ear infection Piper missed a lot of school (preschool). I received a letter last week that she had been withdrawn from the school. She is very upset and misses her friends. I have been working with her since then to make sure she is completely ready for her Kindergarten testing next week.

     So when we went today I addressed the ear issue with the doctor again. They looked in the girls' ears and sent us over to the next office to have some tests done. I am not sure exactly what they did but first they put a thing in their ears and it printed out a report about their eardrums then they went into a room and had their hearing tested with the beeps and hand raising. We were then taken back into the ENT office for the report.

     I have brought up my issues with Piper being very loud and speaking with a slight lisp many times in the past to her pediatrician and the ENT and they assured me it was due to access way in her ears and gave me drops to help dissolve it. Here is an example of todays words: (squitched=switched, limo=hippo, waanding=landing) It may sound cute but it makes it difficult sometimes for people to understand her. She has complete conversations with you and a lot of the words are odd. She has used her "outside voice" full time for a year now. I am always telling her to tone it down, and she gets embarrased or upset. A lot of the time I will talk to her and she will ignore me on purpose (or so I thought).

     They brought in the results and I was floored. Piper at this point due to the ear infections and fluid behind her drums has 40% hearing loss. I can't believe she has done so well up to now when she can only hear 60% of what is going on. A lot of things make more sense now. Now Paige on the other hand has never had problems hearing or speaking. She lately has been sitting closer to the TV and I actually had to give her a point that she was not allowed to go past when watching. I thought it was her eyes and made her an eye doctor appointment. At night we have been having to go in their room and turn the TV down because it is too loud. Her results were that she has a 20% hearing loss. I thought she has been ignoring me when I call her and turning her back when I am talking to her because of her "I think I am a teenager" attitude that she has acquired lately. I feel horrible that they both were having problems and did not tell me. It may also explain why she has been getting in trouble for not paying attention in class. Tonight I apologised to both of them and told them that if they are having trouble with anything they need to tell me.

     They hope that their hearing will be restored with the addition of tubes to their surgery schedule. So now they are having their tonsils and adenoids out and tubes put in. It will be a very long and worrisome day for all of us. If you are still with me at this point thank you so much for reading I know it was a long one, I just needed to vent!

Birthday Bash! Magic Cabin Marble Run Giveaway ends 3/15

As I have said before Piper is all about animals. She wants to play big kid games with us but sometimes gets frustrated if the game moves too fast for her when it comes to numbers. She is learning well but sometimes I foget that even though she acts older, that she is only turning 5.

We were sent an animal Yatzi set for her birthday. She will have so much fun playing and scoring this game with her sister! I love the bright colors and the assortment of animals that are featured in it.

Since she was about 2 years old Piper has loved small intricate toys and toys that "go together" like building sets and such. I know she is going to love the Marble Run set that we recieved from Magic Cabin. She will be able to set the path for the marbles to follow and build it up herself. Her dad is actually excited to play this one with her. I love that Magic Cabin has toys made from real wood and fabrics. The type of toys that will last a long time and inspire a sense of nastalgia from when we were kids.

Piper loves all things animal so when I had the chance to feature Squinkies for her birthday bash I was very excited! What I like about the playset is it is like a gumball machine, you place the coin in the slot and the friends come out the bottom. I know she will get hours of enjoyment out of them!

How adorable are these? I love the hair, it reminds me of my troll dolls when I was a kid but with a little pet twist.

We were sent a new book for Piper's Birthday. She will be so thrilled when she opens it. She loves book and loves for ehr sister to read them to her. This one is right up her alley...

As always the illistrations are beautiful and filled with vibrant colors. What I like is that they have given new life to timeless classic tales. I know this will be her new bedtime book for sure. She lays in her bed and her sister reads her a story everynight when they go to sleep. When hubby and I do it she is not as excited. I am glad to see the bond they have. :)

Birthday Bash! Leapfrog Click n' create Digital Camera

We were sent the Leapfrog Click n' Create digital camera by Sakar for Piper's birthday. It is 2.1-megapixels which is fine for young kids. It has rubberized grips that make the camera easy to hold on to. I know Piper will love that it will talk to her when she takes a picture. She asked for a camera for her birthday because she wants to take a "mazillion" pictures like Mommy. haha

I opened it up and snapped a couple pictures with it but wasn't thinking and did not save them to my computer before packaging it back up. The pictures are a bit grainy but like I said it is for a 5 year old. I will say that the buttons are very easy to understand, so i know she will have no problem catching Mommy on the computer in her pajamas. I can't wait for her to open it up so we can have lots of fun with it!

I was sent 2 adorable personalized T shirts for my girls from AmyAdele.com. We will be giving them to them on Piper's birthday. We always try to give the non-birthday child something small so they do not feel left out. Now with the addition of my nephew to the house I will have to find something to give him on that day also.

They carry stationery, gifts, invitations, and t-shirts. All of which can be customized to your likings with graphics and wording.

I was able to choose the design and lettering. I chose a panda for Piper (of course) and a little monkey for Paige. How adorable are these?

I had the chance to try out the safety cutter and precision cutter from Slice. I decided to try out the safety cutter with gift wrapping. I have yet to wrap all of Piper's gifts but we had a birthday party to go to last weekend so I made sure to take pictures of myself using it.

It's a cutting tool that's quick, easy and safe

Features a high-tech ceramic blade that's almost as hard as diamonds; lasts longer than steel and never rusts

Built-in magnet and key-ring hole

Perfect for scrapbooking, news articles, coupons, art projects and plastic packages

I used it directly on my table and it did not harm it at all. There is a small ceramic blade that is made for paper only!

I had a nice clean line so there was no need to fold under the edge while wrapping to give it a nice look. This will definitely come in handy while I am wrapping all of Piper's birthday gifts! Once great feature I like is that the safety cutter is magnetic, I have it stuck to my fridge at the top so I will always be able to find it.

The precision cutter can be used in the same applications that you would use an craft blade for. You can cut out very tiny pieces and it will not be torn or jagged. I love the Slice tools I received and I want to share some with you!

Who hasn't seen kids running around wearing bands on their wrists? Well up until now there has been a limited selection for boys. Battle Bands has changed all of that! I would like to introduce you to a whole new line of bands that are actually part of a game.

The set we received came with the battle mat, collector cards, and bands. I think my hubby had more fun playing with them than the kids! I took pictures but I just switched computers and somehow lost them in the swap. So for now I will have to use some basic ones from their website.

It is a really fun game where kids place the the mat on the floor against the wall. When they fling the bands to the mat they can bounce off the wall and still count towards their score.
